Singing Company
THE SINGING COMPANY
The first mention of a ‘Singing Company’ as we know it, comes in the Corps History Book on the 22nd May 1922 when the ‘Young Peoples Songsters’ along with the Senior Band, Young Peoples Band and other comrades attended the funeral of a junior soldier.
Since that time, or earlier, this section of the corps has given many, many blessings as they sing in each meeting on a Sunday and at other Corps and Churches they have visited.
The present Singing Company, lead by Julia Harland, use the ‘Sing To The Lord’ series of song books to bring their message.  The boys and girls meet at the hall each week to practice, which not only means learning the songs but they also discuss the meaning of the words and the message behind the song.  Julia feels that if the children can better appreciate the message and express themselves more, then this helps the listener to gain the greatest benefit from their singing , we can all testify to that!

Julia is very pleased to see the ranks of the Singing Company swelling of late.  Not only have seven new members joined but she now has an assistant, Rosalind Scott, who, at another Corps, was Singing Company Leader for many years.

In June the Singing Company have blessed us with:
